In italiano la parola "contrattempo" si usa per definire una contrarietà ma anche un tempo musicale. In musica possiamo approssimativamente definire il contrattempo come un battito che si manifesta quando dovrebbe esserci una pausa. E' un evento che accade in un momento non aspettato, in cui dovrebbe esserci linearità, regolarità. Esattamente ciò che succede nella vita quando abbiamo un contrattempo.

In Italian the word "contrattempo" is used to define a setback but also a musical tempo. In music, we can roughly define the “contrattempo” or “controtempo” (backbeat syncopation) as a beat that occurs when there should be a pause. An event that happens unexpectedly, where there should actually be linearity and regularity. This is exactly what happens when we have a setback in life.

Poi, una volta pubblicato il libro, nonostante le informazioni della campagna di lancio e i link a Lulu per l'acquisto, si scoprì che le persone andavano comunque a cercarlo su Amazon. Dove non c'era. Primo contrattempo. Maura non si aspettava questa possibilità. La gente cercava il libro dove l'autrice non aveva previsto che fosse. Rapidamente, ha deciso di correggere il formato del libro e pubblicarlo anche su Amazon. Tuttavia, ORRORE! secondo contrattempo, si scopre che c'è un errore di stampa causato dal sistema di Amazon. Tutte le "a" in corsivo sono diventate puntini neri creando un buffo effetto di spartito musicale ma anche un disturbo per la lettura. While Maura Garau, founder of CyberItalian.com and author, wrote the book Your Renaissance, as it contains many images of works of art, she took great care in planning the final print quality of the book. She chose to publish with Lulu because, from the extensive research she had done, it offered excellent quality of inks, paper and printing, both for the full-color edition and black and white edition. However, once the book was published, despite the information from the launch campaign and the links to the Lulu store, she discovered that people were looking for Your Renaissance on Amazon, where she hadn’t made the book available. First setback. She hadn’t expected this possibility. “What now?” she thought. She decided to quickly correct the format of the book and publish it also with Amazon. However, HORROR! second setback. She discovered that there was a printing error caused by the Amazon system. Every single “a” in italics had become a black dot creating a funny musical score effect but also a reading disturbance. Cosa dire? Che i contrattempi sono ciò che genera la musica e il ritmo della vita, a volte creando situazioni inaspettate che forse disturbano solamente o forse migliorano la vita. Non sappiamo.
