All'inizio usa il futuro: "ti proteggerò... ti solleverò... e guarirai..." con cui ci racconta le cose che farà per prendersi cura della persona amata.
Poi all'improvviso usa l'imperfetto e il trapassato prossimo e ci porta indietro nel tempo: "vagavo per i campi del Tennessee, come vi ero arrivato chissà"...
Poi ci riporta nel presente e ci fa riflettere. "Non hai fiori bianchi per me? Più veloci di aquile i miei sogni attraversano il mare"...
Infine con il presente ci conferma che la persona amata è speciale e con il futuro ci ridice ciò che farà per lei: "sei un essere speciale ed io avrò cura di te"... |
The care that Battiato shows for the verbs in the lyrics of this song is very interesting.
At the beginning he uses the future: "ti proteggerò... ti solleverò... e guarirai..." (I will protect you ... I will lift you ... and you will heal...) with which he tells us the things he will do to take care of his loved one.
Then suddenly he uses the imperfect and the trapassato prossimo and takes us back in time: "vagavo per i campi del Tennessee, come vi ero arrivato chissà" (I wandered through the fields of Tennessee, who knows how I had arrived there...)
Then he brings us back to the present and makes us wonder. "Non hai fiori bianchi per me? Più veloci di aquile i miei sogni attraversano il mare" (Don't you have white flowers for me? Faster than eagles, my dreams cross the sea...)
In the end, with the present tense he confirms that the loved one is a special person, and with the future he tells us again what he will do for her: "sei un essere speciale ed io avrò cura di te" (you are a special being and I will take care of you...) |
