10 tips on watching movies in Italian

Ecco 10 consigli per sviluppare le tue abilità uditive mentre guardi film in italiano:

  7. Use 'active listening' when you are ready to develop your skills, open-up the peripheral listening, sense the general meaning of the dialogue and then move to details.
  8. Use a 'relaxed listening' when you are tired and just want to absorb the sound of the language and let words come to you. Maybe you'll get their meaning, maybe not, but it is not important.
  9. Use a DVD player to watch movies, so you can stop a scene when necessary, watch it again, and again, and again. Repetition is key. Do not be afraid of watching the same movie many times. First time only in Italian, second time use subtitles in Italian, third, if you need, use subtitles in English, fourth time watch it again only in Italian without subtitles.
  10. Relax. Enjoy. Do not feel frustrated when you don't understand. Be patient.
