According to an article from La Repubblica, Italian teenagers and young people watch tv, use the latest technologies and do not forget books and newspapers.

They love their country, they do not despise school and they actually wish for a better school with more cultural events. This portrait of young Italians created by Istituto Pepoli gives a positive image of our boys and girls.

More than 3 young people out of 4 surf the Web at least once a week (56% of them are online every day). They are interested in new technologies but they do not forget the traditional media: 40% of teenagers read books not related to school and 54% read newspapers.

Almost all of them love their country ( 94%), the national soccer team and good food.

The most appreciated Italian authors are Dante (38%), Manzoni (42%), Ungaretti (26%) and Pirandello (26%). The most successful contemporary authors are Moccia (21%), Camilleri (16%) and Faletti (14%).

A melting pot of knowledge and a treasure for the future!
